Our story
From one student to more than 5,000
One family has guided STC from the very first class.
Began teaching one student at her home in Brindavan, Mysuru, thirty years ago. Her way of teaching still shapes every class at STC.
A mechanical engineer with a master's in Sustainable Engineering and Management from Linköping University, Sweden. Worked with Volvo and Forbes Marshall, and founded Carbon Mandal.
- 1996
It began with one student
Sujatha R Shetty started teaching a single student at her home in Brindavan, Mysuru. She did it for one reason: a love of teaching.
- 2001
A new home in Hebbal
Parents talked, and soon more children were arriving at her door. Sujatha moved to Hebbal, and the batches kept growing.
A centre of our own
As more families asked for a seat, the classes moved out of the family home and into our own centre in Hebbal 1st Stage.
- Today
5,000+ students and a new chapter
More than 5,000 students have now studied at STC. Sujatha's son, Roshan Rai, has joined her mission as Director, bringing new ideas to a 30-year tradition, with Sujatha's way of teaching still at its heart.
What hasn't changed
The classroom still feels like home. Our teachers are driven and caring, and they keep every child safe, so children grow as people, not only in marks. We blend time-tested ways of teaching with new ones, keep the traditions and culture of Bharath alive, and teach life lessons alongside the syllabus.
